    No seu estudo, publicado na revista Obesity, investigadores
    do George Institute for Global Health da Universidade de Sidney localizaram 123.000 adultos australianos com idades compreendidas entre os 21 e os 65 anos ao longo de um
    período de seis anos. Descobriram que as pessoas que se exercitavam todos os dias
    a uma hora consistente tendiam a manter o peso fora.
    Isso é verdade mesmo que essas pessoas engordassem alguns quilos durante
    as horas em que exercitavam mais.

    “As pessoas com o melhor historial de se manterem fiéis à sua rotina de exercício foram mais bem sucedidas no controlo do seu peso”, explica
    a autora do estudo Dra. Elissa Epel.

    Os autores do estudo não disseram exactamente por que
    razão o exercício exacto de uma determinada hora do dia leva
    a uma perda de peso mais bem sucedida, mas os especialistas dizem que podem haver algumas razões.

    1. Humanos previsíveis.

    Nos E.U.A., mais de 50% de nós exercita-se a dada altura
    do dia, de acordo com uma recente sondagem da HealthDay
    com mais de 1.000 profissionais de fitness e leigos.

    “Construímos os nossos dias em torno de uma alimentação limitada no tempo, o que significa que temos três ou quatro janelas bastante estreitas onde comemos”, diz o Dr.
    Barry Braunstein, um psicólogo e autor de “Eat When You’re Not Hungry”.

    “Isso não é mau, porque dá ao nosso corpo a oportunidade de queimar calorias, mas muitos de nós descobrimos que não estamos motivados para nos mexermos se não tivermos fome primeiro”, diz Braunstein.

    Braunstein acredita que quando não estamos com fome, é
    muito mais fácil manter um horário de alimentação
    regular.

    “Estamos também habituados a comer as nossas refeições em casa ou num ambiente social”, diz Braunstein. “Quando estamos a fazer exercício, estamos muitas vezes a fugir de casa, ou em frente de um cubículo ou de uma sala de estar. O dia de trabalho é muitas vezes um ambiente stressante, onde estamos com pressa, e isso torna-nos difícil concentrarmo-nos no que estamos a comer”.

    2. Pequeno almoço para o nutricionista.

    Se gosta de fazer exercício todos os dias à mesma
    hora, os exercícios da tarde e da noite podem não funcionar para si.

    Isto porque alguns especialistas dizem que precisa de fazer exercício de
    manhã para ter sucesso.
